It's a fun time with a few friends together, but can sill be enjoyed alone. However, the adrenaline of having a Hunter search around the room you're set up in is cool, or you running for your life, frantically switching into different props to try and escape a hail of machine gun fire is a crazy load of fun, I will admit. On your own, still pretty fun, though I hope you're able to text people while you're hiding in a good spot because staring at the screen and not moving for 5 minutes isn't exactly the most exciting thing ever.

So that's the idea, but what do I think? Well, the game is fun. Think of it like Spot the Difference if it was 3D, bigger and you shot the differences with an assault rifle. You need to take it slow, explore room by room and try to find all the Props. So, you can't just go around shooting everything you see. Problem is, every time you shoot an object that ISN'T a sneaky Prop, you lose health. You have 5 minutes to find all the props on the map. Now, as a Hunter, it's a little different. You then turn into that object and must blend in with your surroundings to hide from the Hunters. The aim of the game is rather simple.Īs a "Prop" your job is to quickly run, find an object like a cup, a box or a wardrobe.

A bug in Prop Hunt is that if you move the mouse around when a hunter is looking right at you, they can sometimes see your player name briefly.Prop Hunt is a simple game mode for the infamous Garry's Mod. The smaller the prop, the harder you might be to spot, but the less health you have.įinally, be careful looking around when hunters are nearby. However, when a player becomes a prop, they are always upright, and always remain facing the same direction from everyone else's perspective. Something to note: when you are a prop, it looks to you like you’re turning when you look around. If you just want to pick up a prop without becoming a copy of it, use Ctrl+E. Setting the prop back down undisturbed is harder than it sounds, sometimes impossible. This picks up the prop if it’s small enough, and makes you look like the prop. When you find a prop that you want to become a copy of, you press E. Keep in mind that not all props let you copy them, it depends on the map. A prop is anything on the map that is not a part of the map itself (so tables and chairs are usually props, while doors and walls are not). You get a head start to go hide while the hunters are blindfolded. As a player prop, you begin the round as Dr.
